Femtosecond Schwind as the latest generation of femtosecond devices has been able to offer both the typical functions of common femtoseconds and a special feature called SMILE. This method is actually the latest generation of vision correction surgery. In typical methods, by scraping the corneal surface, the required form and shape is given to the cornea.

One of the most advanced and recent operations for correcting refractive defects of the eyes is called “SMILE”. The abbreviated form of this operation has been adapted from its full name, and it has been extracted such that ‘smile’ which means smiling would be obtained and create a good feeling in both the patient and physician. It is actually a suitable name because this operation is a result of a new and advanced technology. In this operation, only femtosecond laser is used or Smart Sight. Part of the corneal tissue is incised as negative or positive lens (whether the patient has myopia or hyperopia). Then, this tissue is removed from a small incision which is around 3 mm , and therefore the cornea finds a new shape and strength, whereby the refractive defect of the person is corrected.
